Recorded between 2020 and 2023, The Sudbury Inn contains 11 tracks running 56 minutes.
3 songs’ lyrics on the album are partly inspired by the "Tales of a Wayside Inn" written in 1862 by the American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow about the real stories of seven travelers telling their tales at the Wayside Inn in Sudbury.
Aret Madilian and Beatrice Valantin of Deleyaman were joined by six musicians during some of the recording sessions of the album. Artyom Minasyan on duduk, Eric Plandé on tenor sax and flute, Pierre Baillot on soprano sax, oud and bansuri, Madalina Obreja on violin and Benoit Fournier on drums.
Jules Maxwell (Dead Can Dance, Brendan Perry, Lisa Gerrard) who has toured with Deleyaman and who has contributed to the band’s prior album “Sentinel”, is guest pianist on the track “Another Evening”.
The album cover artwork is a painting by Beatrice’s sister Catherine Valantin.
